The Stephens County Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable entity. 

 

The Foundation is supported by the generosity of private individuals from the community, fundraising activities and grants.  Many individuals from the community donate their time as volunteers at the Tugaloo Bend Heritage Site and at our various events. 

Your donation enables us to maintain and upgrade our current projects plus fund our future plans.  

Together we can preserve the local history and natural beauty of  this area we call home.  Please take a moment to peruse the information a list of our current needs and  the projects we envision in our future.

MATERIAL NEEDS AND PROPOSED PROJECTS THAT

YOUR DONATION WILL SUPPORT. 

  • Additional life jackets and paddles for canoe and kayak rentals

  • Purchase of a canoe or Kayak

  • Sponsor one of our River Tours, to be offered four times each year

  • Printing costs for informational brochures (Kayak Tour, Driving Tour, Hiking Trails at Tugaloo Bend Heritage Park)

  • Tree tags to identify the many species found at the Park for visitors

  • Gravel to maintain heavy traffic areas and access

  • Perennial and annual plants for our butterfly and pollinator gardens

  • Construction of a Discovery Center with interpretive exhibits and event space

  • Construction of an environmental science classroom in our Discovery Center

  • Construction of wildlife viewing blinds on one of the ponds.

  • Construction of an equipment shed

  • Purchase of a tractor to maintain access and mow areas of the Park
